Opinion: Gordon Brown is French
Far from being the dour Scots man he has been marketed as it seems Gordon Brown is a coward of French proportions. Last night word spread of Monsieur Browns willingness to take Britain’s best defence and strongest deterrent and bin it. France are expected to become the new Britain while Britons get used to being dull, cowardly and pusillanimous – but never arrogant.
Should the surrender-fetishist in number 10 really decommission a nuclear submarine? No. Should Britain lighten her nuclear capability? No. Are we still a world power? Not for much longer under the rule of this shower of shit.
Britain currently has 4 nuclear submarines that can be posted almost anywhere in the worlds oceans, undetected and carrying our Trident nuclear deterrent, and gives Britain an incredibly effective presence not only militarily, but politically as well. These subs aren’t only used for the defence of the realm but also of her allies. With 4 submarines, the country can ensure there is always at least one on active duty. Taking one away will mean holes in our defence, and only the most ignorant of pacifists would argue that the nation doesn’t need a permanent and active defence against the rouge nations of the Earth. History will win that debate. Every time.
This historic nation cannot afford to eliminate a single nuclear weapon while Iran and North Korea still seem bent on developing powerful warheads to either “wipe Israel off the map” or threaten Japan and South Korea. It is simply absurd to compare Britain’s need to reduce warheads with the USA or Russia. These two nations have 1000′s ready to point and shoot, and that’s before China comes in to the equation. Obama is urging Americans to support his bid to reduce nuclear armaments in the US. This is obviously the right thing to do, and hopefully the Russians and Chinese will follow suit, but a smaller nation, with many times fewer warheads need not reduce their defencive capability in line with these larger nations until such countries have sufficiently few weapons as to make comparisons relevant.
Britain is hanging on to her super power status by a thread and Labour seem hell bent on reducing this country to nothing more than invasion fodder. Next up from the belly of the nuLabour beast will be handing our military and all of its capability over to the EU, giving Britain NO power at all. That will likely be followed up by a complete surrender of sovereignty, leaving Britain a forgotten province of a United States of Europe that will have us all by the balls with its EuroArmy.
Far fetched? It wasn’t too long ago that reducing our nuclear deterrent would have been unthinkable.
